    That's terrible for Cleverly. I wonder how much World of Boxing would've paid him to go over to Russia to defend his title against Bivol.

    You know nothing of the financials.
    They need a little over 2mil PPVs to break even and generate a profit.
    And then there are numerous other additional income sources such as:
    Foreign PPV
    Foreign TV rights
    Closed circuit
    Live Gate
    Sponsorship deals
    Merchandise

    You're completely right, although Mayweather claims he's promised $350M which would take it past Floyd vs Pac.

    The reason is that if Salido fights Lomachenko next, he gets paid only once.

    The other top 130lb'ers won't see any reason to fight him, he gives you a rough time and would be coming of a bad loss (we all know Loma stops him in the rematch). Without that 1-0 score over Loma no one wants to pay $$$ to fight him anymore.

    If Salido fights Davis instead, yes Davis probably beats him up too, but Loma will still be around afterwards looking to avenge the loss. So Salido would get paid twice.

    Good to see Jack getting paid. He's not the youngest fighter in the game and I can't think of any fighter in the sport more hard done, nay, who's been flat out screwed in the past few years. He certainly hasn't had any favors done for him, which is a shame. Very, very talented guy. Reminds me of the Magic Man Marlon Starling in there at times, the way he catches shots and returns fire. An underrated fighter.

    Hearn just tweeted that Cleverly is getting the UK side of the cut as well on top of his purse. Guess they will have similar pays when all is said and done.

    Cleverly getting paid a pittance and has no chance to win a fair decision and it's his title. Only in America!

    Edit;

    Just saw the update about Cleverly getting U.K. PPV money. now all he has to do is worry about the unfair judging he will get.
