sweetsciguru once proclaimed russel jr would knock loma out in 8

once he saw his boy was getting a pasting he deserted esb forum half way through the fight and wasnt seen for over a month . He was taught to be crying his eyes out and near suicide because now the only form of social interaction he gets on her would be just ridicule and insults

after a solid month of councilling and keeping his head low he finally found the fake confidence to come back on here and post his bull**** again

sweetsciguru still remains a ******ed protected child who doesnt know **** about boxing to this day

You can add Guerrero and Leo Santa Cruz to that list as well. Santa Cruz got 500k for an undercard fight on the March PPV. Guerrero got $1 million off a dismal performance against Mayweather.

Maybe someone can answer this question. How does Haymon have so much leverage in negotiations with a network? I know there were reports of a possible online subscription fight, but with the WWE fiasco some of those talks should be put on hold. Other networks like ESPN2 and FOX Sports 1 really only put up like 50k for a show (Arreola vs. Stiverne was an exception, but even for a HW title bout it was only like 500k, which is probably half of what SHO put up for Garcia vs. Salka).

Floyd is already under contract to SHO for three more fights, and could probably extend that deal if he fights on. I don't think HBO is interested in doing business with him once Kerry Davis left the network.

The one thing I do applaud, if it's true, is that he says he only takes the 15 % cut on purses above 100k. Maybe that's true, could just be speculation.

The big problem I have is how he's basically taken his elite fighters and put them on 2 times a year. However, he's able to get such purses that they probably make as much money in 2 fights as Leo Santa Cruz made in 4 bouts in 2012.

The ironic thing is that when Haymon moves his fighters from HBO to SHO (i.e. Stevenson, Hopkins), they end up making more money with less actual viewers. Once again, I could end up being proven conclusively wrong, but I cannot see how he can sustain this over the long term. He makes a lot of money for a select few in the short term, but his strategy to basically create his own league of fighters will damage the sport long-term and force the networks to re-examine their bloated rights fees.

I can see why a fighter who knows he's not that good (take Berto, Russell) and sign with Haymon. He can maximize their earnings until eventually they are exposed. How many millions did Berto make (and still will), without ever developing a fanbase? Mayweather is one of the very few who can actually draw a decent live gate.

u can't compare their pay days to other sports....compare their pay days to others with in the sport. haymon doesn't take the same percentage others take in the sport. when u have a trainer, manager and promoter all digging in your pockets...don't expect to make much. haymon is an advisor that helps eliminate the need for a manager/promoter....and he takes a very small percentage in comparison to the traditional way in boxing. he's changed the game so that fighters get paid fairly.

u can't equate ticket sales with fanbase in the traditional sense. who gives a **** about the gate when u can do over a million in ppv sales? understand one thing....viewership at showtime is up tremendously. that's all haymon/gbp. if viewership is up at showtime...that means more subscriptions. more subscriptions equal more $$$ which means a bigger annual budget. meanwhile hbo is televising shiming fights in macao with toprank....and a bunch of other guys we've never heard of.

btw...berto and russell are very good fighters. they were both elite amateurs...and the truth is they would never be seen if it weren't for haymon. leave it to toprank and the other promoters...they would avoid them totally. berto has never been in a boring fight that i can recall.
