Add Frenchman to Wilders growing legendary list of warriors like buffet kings, career losers, cab drivers and KO 1 victims... Frenchman are the first to fold under pressure. Perfect Wilder victim. Wilder will still manage to get rocked heavily en route however

Fighters were making more than 140k in the 1920's for perspective. This is embarrassing.

Uhhhh.... What did Cornish do? He never even beat anyone in the top 150, hell probably not even top 200.....

Then why on earth is Wilder, the WBC champ, fighting with someone like that?

See above. Charr is a meaningless scalp these days and Rosberg was an exposed fraud.

Maybe it's bad management. Maybe Duhaupas is in the mob and is gonna bank off the 30:1 odds after a guy with slicked back hair puts a micky in Wilders water.

Cornish padded his record with far worse fighters. Rosberg, and Charr would have undefeated records if they faced Cornishes level of opposition no question.... I honestly don't see how a case could be made for him earning more than Duhaupas in a big fight based off of MERIT. That's not how things work in boxing, but that's what we're discussing here. On MERIT Duhaupas is more accomplished than Cornish no question.

Flawed logic, bud. What was it Cornish earned a shot at, again? ;)

You can't equate a Commonwealth title shot with a world title shot. Proportionate to what opportunities they got, Cornish absolutely earned his more. Or do you not think higher standards ought be held for a world title shot than a Commonwealth title shot?

He wasn't fighting for a World Title either, yet the event generated more income, that's all. Wilder mustn't be that big a draw, wouldn't surprise me if Joshua got more than Wilder is getting for this as well.

Generated more income because Joshua (as Olympian) and Cornish (as large unbeaten super heavy prospect) both sold lots of tickets in the UK, combining to make it a big domestic event. :good

Nobody is buying a ticket because of Johann Duhaupas, literally not one person.

In proportion to what opportunities they are getting, Cornish "did more" than Duhaupas by a large margin. Cornish did about what's average to get a Commonwealth shot. Duhaupas hasn't done even a scant trace of what's acceptable to get a world title shot...therefore I don't really care to hear any whinging on his behalf about his deservedly low purse.

I'm talking about the purses of the fights, not the merit of the actual fights. I think Duhaupas is being skimped a little. 10% is ridiculous. Especially considering Wilder isn't making a kings ransom himself. I know Joshuas fight made more money, still think The Frenchie is being ripped off here.
