Lower down the bill, I might be wrong, but I think most bouts on a card, the boxers will actually have to sell tickets to earn anything for themselves.

I don't know for sure. I would imagine some fighters may get paid a wage during a contract period and then get this deducted from the purses they get. Lower down the bill and replacements are probably offered a few hundred to a few thousand to step in. I would imagine a couple of hundred thousand for a decent champion would be tops. Take away tax, fees and the like, these guys are not super rich. Being a champion doesn't instantly make you rich, if your popular, sponsors like you then your on your way, if you have a good fan base or a rival, more's the better. At European champion level, putting your life on the line a few times a year for £40k purses your not becoming a millionaire anytime soon. :good I agree with a previous poster, I'm sure fighters have to sell so many tickets as part of the deal sometimes, if they cannot they have to buy them themselves? It would be interesting for a fighter to give us an answer perhaps?:?
