So if GGG had to face the title fight opposition of Hagler, does he have similar results? From Alan Minter thru to Leonard?
On paper he should beat them all. But vs Hearns I don't think Golovkin would go straight at Hearns, he would probably break him down for a late stoppage. Duran might surprisingly run Golovkin close in a tactical battle similar to the Canelo fights. Golovkin might actually struggle with Leonard, did Golovkin ever really beat a good mover like Leonard ? The others I don't really give much of a chance.
It's funny but the first person that popped in to my mind was Duran. Not saying he'd actually win but it could be an interesting fight. He'd be an under dog but still. Hearns, I hate to say it but he's getting ktfo out some point, can't see any other way tbh.
Marvin Hagler couldn't get Duran outta there and neither will GGG. Roberto would find Golovkins style easy to figure out and he'd counter him often. I think he'd take a close SD. Hearns? I think Hearns is ahead mid to late fight, whether he wilts I don't know. That version of Leonard might sneak out decision but GGG would be favored
Duran, Leonard and Hearns probably outbox Golovkin over 12 rounds. I look at Golovkin’s opponents and wonder why he is ranked so high by some. One of his opponents was shadow boxing in a gym where kids were running around him playing. I have never seen that before.
Leonard wins for sure, he does everything that canelo did in the first fight, just better. Less time on the ropes and a higher workrate. Hearns outboxes him until GGG catches up, which i am 50/50 on if he will because Golovkin is actually far less agressive against punchers. His best bet is to just try to smash hearns, i dont think he has the quickness to get rid of him staying behind his jab(which i believe he would based on his performances vs lemieux jacobs and canelo) Duran loses a 8-4 UD. If golovkin tries to maul him like he did brook, he might fight duran to be very tricky and sneaky, once he goes behind his jab like he did in the canelo rematch, he outboxes Duran.
Man, Golovkin has to be one of the most overrated fighters ever. He made his fame beating Rubio, Monroe Jr, Wade etc. Antuofermo beat all Golovkin's opponents. Hamsho, Antuofermo, Monroe father, Roldan, they all had the potential to get decisions against Golovkin who was super easy to hit let´s remember that. Give Jacobs 1 or 2 rounds more and he beats Golovkin btw.
Leonard to my mind is the trickiest. He's got the boxing IQ and speed and light feet to make GGG's night a long one. Hearns I think would break down over a long fight and Duran is to my mind simply too small. In exchanges he might make Golovkin pay with his savvy little slips and counters but if GGG does his homework he will be feeding that long power jab all night to Duran. Hagler himself would probably be the toughest if we are counting him. Let's also not forget that Golovkin is essentially a division up from these guys. Fight night weight is 173lbs+ That's a reason why he looks kinda slow when compared to them. He is slower, because he's considerably bigger and tankier.
