It's like this. Foreman - Frazier is somewhat akin to Holmes - Berbick, and Tyson - Berbick. Holmes won almost every round but never remotely looked like stopping Berbick. Berbick actually had some good moments, but they were brief and scattered. Tyson made absolute minced meat of Trevor. It's styles, and differing assets. The same as peak Foreman vs peak Norton being compared to Norton vs Ali.

I'm not convinced Frazier was as bad as some love to say. He had good performances thereafter. Foreman was born to run thru Frazier, and Norton too for that matter. Norton and Frazier were born to make things difficult for the likes of Ali and Holmes.

Foreman was just as good as Frazier was bad that fight, and then some. He did the same to a brilliant version of Norton, to underline the point.

Why are we even assuming Muhammad would employ the same strategy against Larry that he employed against George?

Holmes is the same age as Foreman if he could have dominated this hypothetical it wouldn't be a hypothetical.

If Ali didn't have the legs anymore, then explain how he was able to dance 15 rounds a full 4 years later when he regained the title vs Spinks?

Holmes wasn’t ready for these fights in real time, although he certainly might pull a surprise.

If we’re picking our best version of Holmes vs these specific versions of Frazier, Norton and Ali, I’m going with Larry in a sweep.

He maybe closes Joe’s eyes and stops him late. Norton tough decision win and Ali a bit wider decision win — Muhammad doesn’t have the legs at this stage, as pointed out earlier in the thread.
