Spence was dead on the scales and even deader walking into the ring. That man looked seriously drained and seriously ill. He could have probably benefited from some IVs.

Where are all these murderous punchers with high KO% Spence was supposed to fight at 147...?

Totally different conversation dude. Maybe Spence was drained, maybe he wasn't. He's been 147 his whole career and could've moved up years ago but chose to stay to make this fight happen. I don't want to take away from Crawford's win unless there's objective proof something was wrong with him.

Spence should have moved up 2-3 fights ago, but he had enough talent to get by basic Danny and basic Ugas. And then there was 16 months of inactivity and that certainly didn't help. It was basically one fight too long and he was completely spent. Look at the ring walk - there was seriously something wrong with Spence. His eyes were dead. And then you look at how every single punch by Crawford rocked him to the core. I mean come on, Crawford hits hard and he's accurate, but Spence was disfigured and the doctor checked on him after Round 3 and he hadn't even taken a beating by then (the KD was flash-ish and partially landed on the neck, so 50/50 balance and punch).

Spence deserves major credit for sticking around and trying to become undisputed. But this decision cost him and I imagine it cost him dearly. The man is probably done.

Literally all of this is wrong.

Mikey called him out, Spence laughed it off, and Mikey insisted on fighting only to get utterly dominated. Mikey was on the p4p list and was talking trash saying Spence was just a big slugger and that he had higher ring IQ. Spence basically boxed his head off with a jab to prove a point.

Porter was a world champion. Are you saying there is shame in going life and death with 1 of the 4 best fighters in his division?

There was nothing close about the Danny fight. The timeline is also off, he fought Danny after the accident showing huge balls proving a point that he didn't need a tuneup.

There was nothing close about the Ugas and Pac fight, Ugas bullied Pac and was in control for nearly the entire match.

People ranked him p4p because he had 3 belts and was dominating his division.

Hey Glass, not saying it applies to Shawn, but the strap holders can be pretty shite. Going life and death with Paul Butler, Caleb Plant, or in recent heavyweight history Martin or Stiverne wouldn't be an optimistic prediction of a great career.

I see your point, but Porter certainly wasn't on the level of Plant, Martin, or *chuckle* Stiverne. I mean I'm not saying Porter was some super duper A class elite ATG, but that's an insult to compare him to those guys.

P4P, Porter had better stamina, inside fighting, a better jab, footwork, heart, work rate, etc than them. Porter was also on a good 4 fight win streak against decent to world class fighters before facing Spence. He carried his belt with class and wasn't ever out of shape like the slob Stiverne, suffered brutal KO loss to an old man like Martin, etc.

So I stand by what I said, going life and death with a decent belt holder like Porter who always gave it his all isn't embarrassing for Spence.
