Strikeforce was bought by the UFC because its owners put it on the market because they were losing too much money.

WEC was part of Zuffa already and was ended because its television deal with Versus was over.

Affliction folded because it lost too much money

Pride folded because it was bleeding money after being thrown off Japanese television due to the Yakuza scandal

The idea that the UFC is this predatory company buying up successful rivals so they can't challenge them is ****ing bogus. With the exception of the WEC, there is not one company that the UFC has bought that wasn't in financial trouble at the time of the sale.
