starting off on the right foot.
i like both klitschos..Wlad more. I think they are the best of the 2000's
but the 2000's have been a very weak era. not their fault.
only reason for this thread is that the vitali fan boys, who just started watching boxing in the 2000's think he has some kind of bonecrushing power because he has a high and misleading ko % with some ranking him as high as the 6th best heavyweight..EVER :rofl
most of his easy kos came in his first 30 fights...against horrible competition...people like to point out that about Tyson, but tyson did all that in his first 18 months....and he was 18-19 years old. big difference. Tyson won the same green belt vitali has right now when he was all of 20 years old...stopping the then champ Berbick in the 2nd round. Vitali has fought in 7 WBC Title matches and never got rid of anyone before round 8.

heres a look at his POWER in the 2000's

    from 2000-2010

    vital has fought 14 times

6 guys made it to rds 11,12
    2 guys 10 rds
    2 guys 9 rounds
    3 guys 8 rds
    stopped by lewis in 6
    stopped johnson in 2
stopped cruiserweight orlin norris in 1 back in 2000

so in 10 years....a guy that 6 foot 7 and 245 pounds....has stopped 2 guys before the 8th round...so im gonna go out on the limb and say his power is overrated

but when you hear the fantasy matchups and the fanboys say
Vitali KOs Holyfield in 4 or 5 rounds :patsch
Vitali kos Tyson in 6 :patsch
Vitali kos Holmes in 8 :patsch

yeah...larry donald , ross purity and Vaughn Bean go 11 rounds with him...but hes knocking out every all time great hes matched up against

    that is all :good

Vitali has a lot of KO power.

But it's not a one punch KO power...He has accumulative power that makes him win in the later rounds.

In fairness, while that does have a valid bearing on the "Vitaly would KO Norton in 3"-type of posts (which are fortunately pretty rare), it doesn't say that much about his actual power; more about his strategy and his caution.

    So what?

Quick Tillis and James Smith went twelve with Tyson, and Jose Ribalta went 11.

So really, whats your point, perhaps he's not got the one punch power of a George Foreman, but who does?

of course vitali's power is overrated. you got some dumb ****s who look too much into records, that's the problem, while you got guys like me who actually watch the fights, and lets put it this way, a fighter who has such power doesn't need to land so many punches as vitali does to stop his opponents. it's obvious vitali's power is not no where near as good as his record suggests.

Actually I think he's right and Vitali isn't only more cautious these day's but doesn't have the punching power he had in the mid to late 90's anymore. I think his shoulder injury against Byrd has had a lot to do with that, cause before that he was a genuine monster.

It's just accumulation that gets him his KOs.. not a great power hitter.. just repeated jabs and rights make opponents give up in the later rounds.

the point was...in the title of the thread....because 90% of vitali fans think his some kind of deadly puncher...did you miss that part??

yeah, youre right bro...he went 12 rounds with bonecrusher smith when he was 21 years old and for a heavyweight unification fight not Vaughn ****ing Bean. he also knocked out his #1 contenders in the first round like carl williams, michael spinks, destroyed other guys who had never been stopped biggs (7 rds), tubbs (2 rds). first one to KO larry holmes and yes 1988...but holmes fought to the year 2000 and Tyson was the only guy to stop , so that says alot.
Tillis was first guy to take him 10...but by that time, tyson had 18 straight knockouts, most in 3 rounds or less. so the guy stayed away like the plaque...oh yeah, tyson was 19 years old...shame on him....
not comparing tyson to vitali, comparing what a guy with awesome 1 punch power to a guy that is huge and has average power for a guy his size. yet people look at the ko % and think vitali is the stronger puncher.

not to mention..among tysons kos, he has fought against 10 or 11 legit former or current heavyweight champions . i think vitali has maybe 2..... lewis and chris byrd (and they arent among his ko victims)
which translates to alot better opponents when you factor in who vitali has kod compared to tysons hit list

He is powerful enough, despite his serious injuries and related surgeries. Most notable injury was a torn rotator cuff during Byrd match. He is reported to have problems with his knees also.
He is not the hardest hitter in boxing history for sure, but he is nowhere near being light handed either, as you are trying to imply.
The problem arises from the "biased, blind hatred" totally discrediting what Klit brothers have achieved in boxing and the reactionary defence from their fans, exagerating every capability the brothers possess.

Well, Vitali is not really a one-punch KO fighter. He is accumulation style. If you are referring to one-punch KO power, then I would agree that his power is overrated.

However, Vitali is a master at systematically breaking down his opponents not only physically but mentally as well. He is one of the most intimidating HWs that has ever fought, right in there with the Tuas, Listons, Foremans, and Tysons.

Watch his fight vs Kirk Johnson if you want to see his 1 punch ko power.

Yea, he also showed it in some on his really early fights. I stand corrected. What I meant is that one-punch KO power is not his usual way of working.
