He took a beating and lasted a while vs Foreman. He landed some great shots too. But Wlad's jab and safety first approach, plus being taller than Foreman by 3 inches, would probably nullify him. Qawi had the ***** to go all out, though. Did he have a chance?
Arguably won 3 rounds against Foreman but only because George was old, slow, and clumsy. Very small chance that he even wins one against Wlad.
I don't like Wlad. But......No way the fat, slow, plodding, no longer defensively impregnable 1988 Dwight Braxton (Muhammad Qawi) last more than a few rounds with Wlad. I can't even see him landing any shots, except maybe a few to the body.
Qawi's performance against Foreman gets way overrated. He got a beating for six rounds before being stopped in the seventh, and it gets talked of as if it's a blueprint for him beating all kinds of heavyweights. Wlad KOs him early.
I've seen that on here before but I don't get it. I had Qawi winning three rounds-- two at the absolute least. Pretty big exaggeration to say he "got a beating for six rounds." Fact is that Foreman barely hurt him at all and he quit once the going got rough.
It's an even bigger exaggeration to have Qawi winning three rounds. Foreman realised Qawi couldn't hurt him and just walked him down. It really wasn't close or competitive and certainly no blueprint for Qawi beating any half decent heavyweight.
I can't see Qawi doing anything. He's about a foot shorter than Wlad and Wlad won't give him the chance to mount any sort of meaningful offense. He gets jabbed and grabbed into submission fairly easily in my opinion.
Yes, Wlad has dominated the heavyweight division for 8% of it's entire Queenbury history... by cheating. Well ****yzed and intellected.
