Frazier no question, qawi was great and all, but Frazier defintly, I don't think qawi could have beaten bonavena or quarry or much less knocked down a mighty opponent like ali. His best victory was over Leon sprinks who I think shouldn't have even been in the top ten of the era. But frazier's record compared to qawi should speak for itself.

Hell, why not throw Bennie Briscoe in there to complete it and make it a trifecta?

Qawi. Didn’t have Frazier’s left hook but he was superior defensively, harder to hit cleanly, and better at jabbing his way inside.

The problem with Qawi was though, he did not 'smoke' like Joe and it cost him in his career defining fights. But as mentioned he was better defensively, thus he could step in the ring with a Foreman arguably at his physical peak (for his second career), and make it through seven rounds...

Joe is better pound for pound, but Dwight is better technically, as his defense is much better. They are two of my all time favorites, and 2 very hard men.

Qawi was the better technician and stylist, Frazier the greater fighter.

Briscoe didnt really fight like Frazier though. Briscoe trudged forward behind that ramrod jab of his. Frazier fought more like a HW version of Henry Armstrong. Bobbing and weaving forward, drawing leads and then countering with hooks to the head and body.

Qawi was more skilled and better defensively, but he didn't have the relentlessness and one punch equalizer that Joe possessed. Spinks tamed him for the most part. Joe is a guy who would was literally willing to die in the ring if he had to.

Writing about Qawi now, Qawi looks like the stylistic love child of Frazier and Archie Moore. Lacked their power though.

I have never understood the comparison? Qawi is not even an out and out pressure fighter?

“I’m a counter puncher who makes opponents pay for thier mistakes. And they pay dearly and often”

Rock Newman: “People have the wrong impression of Braxton’s style. Somewhere along the line people have gotten the misconception that he is a brawler. Dwight is a boxer

    I never understood the comparison

He's certainly not a brawler, he's a defensive pressure fighter.
