How do these two match up? Who wins, and how? I've got Qawi by decision, too hard to hit clean and would outwork Conteh IMO. Curious how others see it.
Not the type of fight to bet your weekly paycheck on:-( I would take Braxton/ Qawi to win a close decision, in a competitive duel.
I'll swing one the other way, with a proviso, That Conteh sticks to the superb Boxing that he was capable of, and does not get too involved with the rough housing with Qawi, as he will come off second best, He looked good in spots against tough Willie the Bull Taylor, and i am not for one minute comparing The Bull to the Buzzsaw, But John Broke his Hand on Willies tough Noggin (Strangely enough as did Jessie Burnett following) Johns subsequent Struggle with Willie was whilst he was One Handed, Verstile John, apart from that Aggression, did have superb Movement and Balance, an excellant left Jab, and could cut Loose with excellant Combinations, Qawi by comparison was a straight-Line Hunter, and if he got you against the ropes could and probably would Fillett you. For Me This is Like race between a Rolls Royce and a Humvee, The Roller is a Classy Precision Instrument... But if that Camden Humvee can force the race off Road..and down a nasty Dirt-Back Track.. then things start to go wrong with the precision instrument.. The Humvee just Ploughs on ..No Problem... And thats the Rub for me, Can Conteh keep it at Range, and Play Matador. John does have a Vicious Left Hook and as Leo Rogers would Attest..you do not want to treat his right hand with distain..if its been wrapped by George Francis and is good to Launch.. Big If's for John Later in his Career... but at his Best.. And Granting Qwai full respect i do think John can stay a step..sometimes half a step ahead of Qawi for the decision.. Obviously his chances would be improved at Wembley rather than Atlantic city.
