He would be tough but i am not overly convinced he would fit in among that lot in the open division. He would be in the mix at 175.

The Camden Buzzsaw fought in a incredibly tough era of LHW. Maybe it wasn't Murder's Row but it was close.

I like Qawi a lot, I think he could beat the old Mongoose, but lose to Rocky, Walcott and Charles. Only Rocky could stop him though.

He would be so good, that everyone with a functional brain should finally acknowledge, that the 50s were NOTHING ALIKE an avarage 210lb HW devision.

I think you are seriously underrating him. Liston, Marciano KO him and Walcott outpoints him, I think he'd walk down the others.

Interesting thread. I think he goes 1-2 with the three main HW champs in the early 50s. He'd beat Walcott, but lose to Charles and Marciano IMO. He'd also lose to Moore at either weight.

Layne gets taken apart. So do Valdez, Baker, Satterfield &c. Qawi from the Holy/Spinks fights was just a level above them.

Qawi would beat guys like Marshall, Maxim and Johnson &c. but I think that's his level. Guys like Charles, Moore and Bivins are just a stretch too far. Especially the first two.
