Apparently Shiming not such a big star after all, Jun is the real star of Chinese boxing. http://www.asianboxing.info/oriental-opinions/is-zou-shiming-really-the-golden-boy-of-chinese-boxing
First time I hear of him, any good? Better than Shiming (although I like Shiming, I don't think he's trash, he was improving but got thrown in with a wolf a bit too soon).
First saw him on the John vs. Kimura/Yordan vs. Villanueva undercard and was impressed by him even green. ...and against Belahdj Ali and Cooper. Maybe once or twice more. He's good. Younger and more versatile with more upside than Shiming. (and has more pop, despite his low KO%)
Depends on how soon you mean, maybe 5-10 years, I can see a big impact, yes. But right now I don't see anything special coming from there.
If Lu Bin leaves AIBA...though yeah, 5-10 seems right, Jun, Yang, Tso and Zou seem to be the start of a wave that will likely lead to a generation of Chinese guys. Zhong deserves a lot of credit despite his limitation
I think the interest level is high in China and it doesn't need to be a special or great fighter to capture interest. Someone the Chinese can fall in love with like Mask with the Germans. Shiming could have been it if he won the title.
