Give opinion on the force of a jab versus a cross of the same boxer.

Example. Cotto has a very powerful jab. He even KD Clottey with it, so would you say his right cross is 3 times as powerful as his jab? Or maybe only 2 times?

    What?

Anyway, Cotto's Jab is strong because his dominant hand is his left, not the right of most orthodox fighters.

but his right cross should still be more powerful than his jab.

Are there any boxers where their jab is stronger than the cross in absolute terms? Not about how the 2 punches effect the opponent.

    I can't think of any

I mean Wlad has a monster jab but his straight right hand no doubt has more power

    Maybe Holmes

    I doubt it though

maybe winky Wright's was the closest to meeting that criteria. it at least appeared that way.

Let me ask in another way.

For those who have fought in the ring before. How much stronger is the cross in comparison to the jab? Is the cross twice or three times harder than the jab?

hard to say bro everyones differant but iv never been hurt from straight shots, only been put down from hooks to the body and an uppercut i jumped in on very early in my training. hooks to the side of the head can sometimes buzz me a bit

BJS has a hard jab, but his left cross isn't anything special.

Kevin mitchell is a left handed fighter in the orthodox position.

Winky wright good example said earlier.

Mark Breland and Ike Quartey had hard jabs.
