Quarry/Norton Round Four...

    Damn... Norton could really go for the kill when he needed to. Great performance by Norton, as that fight progressed.

    Came out from the bell looking to tear Quarry's head off.

    Anyone ever seen it?

    I saw it "live" on closed circuit PPV many years ago and haven't forgotten
    the beating Quarry took.

    Quarry was past his prime and shot his bolt earlier in the fight. He looked like he had not trained much and carried some extra weight.

    Old Joe Louis was the referee and used "1930's" type standards by letting Norton pound the heck out of Quarry.

    A lot of people were yelling "Stop the fight Joe!"

    That fight didn't help Quarry's eventual physical / mental condition that he died from years later.

    Strange how sometimes he could come back from similar beatings, like vs. the killer puncher Mac Foster...

    Never could tell with Quarry, I guess.

    He was pissed when the fight was stopped too. Half pushing the ref off of him...
