These two get mentioned on here often, how do they match-up H2H?

Quarry was a 6' 200 Lber with decent overall skill, fair power, and a great ability to bleed and lose by TKO vs. almost every TOP fighter he faced. He did beat a pre-prime Lyle by decision and knocked out Shavers. He was destroyed by Ali, Frazier, and Norton.

A prime Bruno was 6'3" and weighed between 228-248 Lbs. in HW world title fights... always ripped. He had good overall skills, good power, exceptional strength, but was stopped by most of the TOP fighters he faced.

    Who ya got?

Bruno's jab and rangyness wins him the fight here, he's much better than the likes of Lyle or Foster that Quarry beat. Bruno doesn't do well against punchers who can outlast him but a smaller man without much firepower really suits him

Depends on Quarry. He has the ability to counterpunch and be cautious enough in the early going to await Bruno's inevitable gassing out. On the other hand,Jerry had a propensity to brawl unnecessarily and in that scenario,Frank has the power to cut up or stop Jerry.

Quarry for me...too much of a "natural" fighter for Frank imo, a higher level imo. JQ losing to Ali and Frazier is no yardstick to measure how Frank would defeat Jerry.

Bruno was big, strong, but predictable, really no more than a 1-2-3 jab, cross followed by the hook merchant, too predictable and not enough imagination or variation to bamboozle JQ. Bruno didn't have the speed & variation of Ali, nor the mentality, intensity or workrate of Smoke.

Ther is alwaysa small chance that Bruno catches Quarry the way he caught Coetzee, but that's only a slim shot imo.

I don't think Bruno was as good as Lyle, no way imo. I see FB posing a few problems early on with his jab, but JQ making the necessary adjustments during the middle rounds to work around this. As Frank wearies, I see JQ catching Bruno with more and more hooks, countering his jab and overwhelming him with a higher workrate than Frank is comfortable with and disorienting him for a stoppage in about 8 to 10 rounds.

You guys make it too easy on Quarry. He's not a H2H monster but all these threads always pit him against the type of fighter he frequently exposed.

Bruno is just another overrated big lug for him to take apart.

Bruno's jab might bother Quarry for several rounds and possibly have him bleeding, but Quarry is just much more of a natural fighter than a mechanical Bruno and he would take advantage of Bruno's short-comings, most notably his lack of late round stamina.

Bruno is more cautious than Shavers, so I do not expect an early beatdown by any means, but he is not so durable as Lyle to last the full distance. It would probably end up looking like the Mac Foster fight.

Quarry, he beat a better version of Bruno in Lyle, imo.Plus Shavers ,and Foster, too all round good for plodding Bruno, imo.
