Haye was absolutely hurt by Wlad. And the other way around. The only reason the fight went the distance was because both guys don't have the finishing mentality to take a risk in capitalizing on their big single shots.
I like your phrase "sasquatch ". Why are they still looking for the Abominable snowman, when he fights before us ?:good
:huh And Shavers hit way harder then Haye, operated behind a jab, and actually went for knockouts. Shavers could actually take a good shot. His stamina failed him like Haye's does. Actually Haye has a similar to chin to Shavers except I think Shavers faced more dangerous fighters, so that's why he got hurt often.
Well, they're totally different. Shavers was a puncher. Haye is kind of a counter puncher. Except he couldn't counter wlad. Probably the only reason Haye would last longer then shavers is because of the static movement he would try to use
This content is protected And yeah, I totally agree with you. Haye has effective head movement, but the problem is he never really capitalizes on it.
:good This content is protected Yeah, he can't effectively work off of the head movement. he doesn't set his hayemakers up at all. If his plan against Wlad was to get lucky with a hayemaker him and boothe seriously ****ed up
Yep. He was constantly making Wladimir miss at points, but never threw a punch when he had the chance. I was frustrated during the fight because of it.
I think Haye is better because he has a better jab and right, is bigger, faster, harder puncher, rangier, stronger. Quarry is a better in fighter and better come forward boxer who can also fight on the backfoot I picked Wlad to win based on his better technical skills, workrate, jab and size but gave Haye a punchers chance, and he did actually chin check Wlad, and Wlad's chin looked better than we thought. I'd actually still gave Haye a better shot of beating Vitali because Vitali is easier to hit. There's no shame in losing to Wlad, Haye shouldn't be chastisised too much for taking on the best of his generation and coming up short. I think both men deserve praise for giving us the fight we wanted, Haye did better against this version of Wlad than anyone has - winning 2-4rounds and chin checking him. Both men proved to have better chins than given credit for. And you know what it is a better fight if you rewatch it, than most HW fights we've had this decade, it's no Bowe-Holyfield and it is technical but it had excitement As for Haye's resume, his cruserweight (which is what Quarry is) resume he fought the best, at HW he's fought 3 champions but lost to 1. Quarry fought better opposition but against the best he actually fared worse than Haye did on Saturday. Ruiz and Valuev aren't a level below Lyle/Shavers/Foster, they're very different but around the same level. Ellis and Patterson are actually blown up MWs and he arguably is 0-3 against them That's because Haye was the 1 going for the KO in the final round, Wlad boxed smart but he did let his right hand go and Haye ate a good few full force right hands. Quarry is far easier to hit, doesn't have near the same power, doesn't have an 84inch reach, isn't 6'7, is far easier to hit I don't understand why people think Quarry was a puncher, he wasn't. He probably caught Shavers cold, or maybe Shavers didn't have a chin, who knows. Aside from that and the Foster win he ko'd no one of note so picking him by KO is unlikely to say the least He landed plenty of rights, watch it again, I watched it twice. I don't understand everyone complaining about the fight, it was by far the best Wlad fight since Peter 1
haye did got tagged by a few rights, but you can see that wlad didn't commit to them in fear of getting countered.those rights weren't thrown with full leverage
There's no way haye is better. He's unproven. Has a shaky chin. Doesn't throw in combination unless he knows his opponent is hurt. He's not faster or a harder puncher. Quarry had a better left hook and could fight laterally better as well as on the backfoot. There should have been a KO but neither guys had the heart to go for it like Wlad said he would in the 12th round. And Haye said he would be like Rocky Balboa, forget it. He was negative all night Okay here's the difference. Quarry actually fought bigger guys while he was a "cruiserweight" which is how you like to call him. He may have tried to fight the best but these so called "champions" are really garbage. Valuev, Ruiz, Harrison, they're garbage. Lyle, Shavers and Foster are way better. Ellis and Patterson simply weren't blown up middleweights. because then you can say the same of Haye. Right. That was his only shot. And he couldn't even push himself to go for the KO. I can't believe you're trying to defend Haye even though he's been acting like a ***** this whole time Quarry had better power then Haye. way more proven. And is a harder style for Haye to handle. You don't have to be a puncher to KO Haye as Thompson demonstrated since you're so keen on bringing up Haye's losses.
Haye is obviously faster and a much bigger puncher and if you can't see that with your eyes you know little of Quarry or Haye or blind. I suggest you watch some more of Haye's fights, against cruserweights especially as that's what Quarry is. I'm guessing you haven't seen his cruserweight career Your logic seems to be based around 'Haye didn't beat an ATG and he didn't fight stupidly getting knocked out and acted like a ***** therefore he loses'. You're being illogical and emotional. Quarry proved little he fought big guys who couldn't box like Foster (terrible), Lyle (a novice) and Shavers was ultimately flawed and caught cold. Against the best he was completely dominated, Haye wasn't to the same degree @ you bringing up a loss in his 11th fight against a world champion and I take it you haven't seen the fight as Haye lost not because of his chin but because he punched himself out throwing 90punches a round. And @ you not knowing Thompson to be a massive puncher, he was. And yes Patterson and Ellis were blown up MWs, haye started his career at 190lbs so no that isn't a MW
