We now continue with the QUARTERFINALS of the All-time heavyweight Head-to-Head tournament. Here are your quarterfinalists:

    1. Lennox Lewis

    3. Muhammad Ali
    4. Larry Holmes
    5. Wlad Klitschko
    6. Mike Tyson
    7. Joe Louis
    9. George Foreman

As a reminder, here are the rules:
    • Best of three fights.
    • 12 rounds
    • 20 x 20 ring

    Ali.

Even if he were to drop the first to Tyson, I find it hard to believe that he would drop the next two.

Clay vs Tyson is a mismatch
Tyson lost to bums and was chinny. Clay had a solid chin and beat the best time and time again. Tyson lost the best in his era.. Lewis and Holyfied and no doubt Vitali would have beaten him too. Tyson's prime was when he was young and it came and went pretty quickly, Tyson isn't even a top 15 greatest ever heavyweights

What's interesting about this poll so far is that in all three fights, Frazier gave Ali all he could handle, and in the Tyson/Frazier poll, Tyson won easily because posters argued that Tyson did everything Frazier did, except faster and with more power.

So why isn't this poll closer so far?

Becuz of this comment... Everybody that picks Ali to win tends to think like the fella below me thinks...

I give it to Ali, but I'd say he'd be shocked in the first fight and have to make serious adjustments for the second and third. By the third, he'd already be in his head, but in the second he'd have to run and hold early and wear Tyson down mentally.

If he's gonna stop Tyson, it would be late in the third fight. He's not gonna stop Tyson in the second.

because Ali's the most overrated boxer in boxing history

you'd think the guy was 60-0 with 60 KOs instead of the clinching, holding, guy he actually was with several questionable victories and several losses

Man, this fight would have been a dream to witness. I wouldn't place any bets on it. Such a great styles clash.

Prime Ali boxes Iron Mike's head off. Ali wouldn't have been bullied by Tyson had the durability not to get blitzed out of there and would have then turned the tables on tyson by the 5th.

Because the real truth is that Joe Frazier would have beaten Mike Tyson.

Tyson was such a big star to us as kids that now his grown fans actually have him higher ranked than what he really was. Tyson was not as good as Ali, Foreman, Frazier, Holmes. He won by intimidation and lack of a solid heavyweight division. If Holyfield and Tyson met in their primes, Holyfield would have won. If Tyson didn't beat you early, he wouldn't beat you. He wouldn't beat Frazier, Holyfield, Ali, etc. earlier. They would take abuse, but as the rounds progressed he would slow down and get beaten. He had a weak will and once he lost his confidence he was a quitter. Any real boxing fan who puts their love for Tyson on the side will tell you that.

Tyson would lose every round and get KO'd late in the fight.

i'm going for Tyson in this one.

it could turn out very ugly if Ali decides to grab hold of Mike every time he closed distance. but even then, Ali would look to fire off shots when letting go but get caught by the shorter shots of Tyson. the ref will have to be legit.

Ali is overrated to hell. he can't win this fight. Tyson by decision.
