Tyson would wipe the floor with Ali.

Looks like Tyson staged a mini-comeback to make the poll a bit more respectable, but he's got a long way to go to pull this off.

Prime Ali just prior to the suspension is the best heavyweight I have ever seen. The Ali that Frazier fought in the first fight is not near prime Ali.

The same guys who pick Tyson to win this are the same guys who think sluggers will beat Mayweather. I can't get over how very impressive slugging against mid-grade competition can make people believe that a great slugger can beat a great boxer...especially one of the best if not the best of all time.

I have replied to several threads on Tyson Ali in the classic section so going to keep this short. I believe this would be the biggest fight ever in boxing history. Three fighters similar to Mike in terms of hysteria, intimdidation and fear were Sonny Liston, George Foreman and Joe Frazier. Ali beat them all when not even in his prime, which he really never reached as a boxer due to his inactivity over the Vietnam debacle. Although Tyson was techically a better fighting machine than the above three he never had their mental prowess or heart. Ali wins via tko round 9.

It always gets me when people talk about how Tyson supposedly couldn't beat u if u stood your ground...

I literally only have to say one name... Razor Ruddock... I'm not saying Tyson's an ATG for beating him, but he stood his ground, survived Tyson's best shots, and Tyson never stopped coming...

Doesn't change my answer, which is Ali, but stop with the whole "if u stood up to Tyson he quit" BS. He didn't train for Douglas, everyone that was there said it, and every other fight he lost he was way past his very short prime. That's that

Probably the ultimate 'fantasy' match up, at least of the HW's IMO.

I've gone Ali due to the nature of the best-of-3 comp. I believe Ali himself said he could have beat Tyson but if he got caught flush then it was game over. Chin or no, Tyson could hurt and disorientate anyone then had the 'killer instinct' to finish the job better than most across all weight categories.

I see Ali's holding (behind the neck) being less effective here due to Tyson's compact power hooks/windmillers but I believe he'd have Tyson's number in fights 2 and 3. Using unorthodox and truly gifted defence to avoid the meatiest part of Tyson's shots will see Ali survive the early rounds, then pepper Mike to the eyes with jabs and combo's till he looks a well beaten shell come the final bell.

This is a struggle for a prime Ali but certainly a style nightmare for Iron Mike here.....

Don't think Cus was ever in Mike's corner. Yes Cus was his mentor, who became his guardian and they lived together in Catskills. Tyson's trainer however was Teddy Atlas. Most people forget this, they had a huge personal fall out where Atlas left and Kevin Rooney came in and tok over. Cus obviously played a big role and was seen as the father figure to Tyson, however he was physically too old to train Mike when he was an amateur. Teddy Atlas played a huge role in the development of Mike Tyson which goes fairly unoticed.

I don't think anyone is going to beat Mayweather, but Tyson will Beat Ali's ass just like Frazier did arguable twice.
