Holmes could be vulnerable to straight right hands. Snipes dropped and hurt him with it, Weaver hurt him with it (their first fight was excellent BTW), eventually it led to the end against Tyson (although Holmes was 38).

I think Holmes would have to show his grit and survive being dropped and hurt from a Wlad right hand, and then rally.

    LOL.

The fight would be over before Wlad could work up enough courage to throw the right hand. He usually doesn't start throwing it until the 6th round...

Holmes has proven that he can get up off the canvas to WIN. The question that needs to be asked is; what happens when Wlad gets dropped?

You never came back to the Louis/Vitali thread because you couldn't. I just talk boxing here and insult nobody.
You got out done in that thread and this here post is a way of you trying to get back at me.

Well that's my pick. Holmes stops Wlad after being dropped or hurt earlier in the fight.

I think it was the alt accounts that got Wlad out ahead in the first place...

Epic battle. Both Lewis and Holmes are making a strong push in the championship rounds, but is there enough time left in the poll?

After Holmes made a strong rally in rounds 8 and 9, it looks like Wlad barely nipped the 10th round and it may be enough to seal it for him as we enter the 11th. Holmes will need a last minute knockout to take this, and I don't know that there are enough votes left to let him land that knockout punch in the last two days of the poll.

    Make your votes count, everybody!

Tough one, but I like Holmes. Superior more versatile technician. Wlad has a nice jab, but Homes is a jabbing machine. One things jabbers hate is being jabbed at. Holmes' better footwork can help him get inside the bigger man. Home's has greater durability, and can keep the pace at a higher rate than Wlad is comfortable with. I doubt Holmes would fall for the jab and grab.

We are halfway through the 11th and Wlad has successfully managed to halt Holmes' rally, stopping his momentum and settling back into keeping Holmes at the end of his jab. After some scary moments a few rounds back, Wlad is taking no chances and hardly throwing the right anymore. Wlad may be content to let this go to the scorecards, but will that decision backfire as we reach the end of the 11th?

I could make a thread soliciting them, but in the interest of fairness, I'd probably need to do the same thing on the European board.

Have to applaud you demigawd. This h2h tourney is a great idea and a good reasonable measure stick for atg heavyweights.

The Klitschko brothers are doing suprisingly well (on here), considering they are still active and the nostalgia-syndrome they are in pretty close fights against the greats of the past.

Thanks, I appreciate that. I wanted to do something to break a lot of the monotony on the board. I'm really happy to see so many votes. I'm sure there are quite a few alts voting, but even then, anyone willing to cheat to win a poll means I've done something right.

I'm also surprised that both Klits are still in it. I've never doubted that they are great, but the fact that both of them are on the verge of making the final four of ATG heavyweights shows a level of respect for them that I didn't think existed. Vitali benefited a bit from a favourable draw against old-timers, but Wlad beating Holmes (assuming he does) is a somewhat shocking to me.
