I find it hilarious how people argue "chin wins vs. no chin". That's a non-sense rule. If there's one rule in boxing it is "A good big man always wins against a good smaller man". And that smaller man is Foreman.

Oh yea and the latter rule was used by Foreman in commenting on HBO a lot, just for reference.

Problem is, Foreman isn't exactly small. He's smaller of course, but not the % difference that that qoute was meant for.

The whole problem is that LL isn't mobile enough to let Foreman miss constantly to tire him out and certainly can't dish it out against him. He has to outbox the man who would hunt down his chin like there's no tomorrow.
He might pull it off to beat him, but I slightly favor big George in this case.

Like I said before, it's quite possibly the worst possible matchup LL could get in this fantasy tourney.

Best 2 out of three would favour Lewis .
I can see him loosing the 1st fight and winning the 2nd, 3rd the issue here i say is this a pre-manny lewis or post Rahman 2 lewis (which was when he was 34 remember).
A prime lewis would have the patients of a Rahman 2 Lewis with the killer instinct of a Mason Lewis. that combo would beat a Moore Foreman with the Frazier foreman killer instinct. 3 for 3

Lewis making a rally. But there are only two days left in the poll. Will there be enough time?

I don't know how Big George would not crack Lewis' egg chin all day..
When prime Lewis got ktfo'd by some footballer turned boxer in Rahman, Rahman just walked over to Lewis and put his lights out as if he was getting up from his couch and walking over to turn off some light switch. Rahman didn't even have to utilize any form of boxing skills to put him away. that could've almost been a scene form some Bud Spencer movie
Lewis, Tua, Vitali most overrated HWs ever

but Foreman didn't have a second successful reign. he beat Moorer in an upset, but lost all the big fights before and after that win.

don't let the robberies fool you into thinking it was anything other than that. :good

Moorer was perfect for Foreman. he had bad stamina which allowed Foreman to take advantage of it late on. plus, Moorer wasn't exactly fleet of foot. he stood in front of George all night. it's only when he got tired that he stopped using the jab that kept Foreman out of position and off balance which left him within Foreman's range of shots to be beat down with.

couple that with Foreman's power and Moorer's glass chin, then you've got the perfect recipe for success for the later Foreman. but that's the only success he did have. he was even well behind on the scorecards at the time of the stoppage. so that success, was mere minutes. not a successful second career like you think.

I'm old enough to have watched them both and this idea that Foreman was indestructible is simply BS. Look at it from this point of view. Foreman in the Lyle fight was down as many times in that one fight, as Lewis was in his entire career.

I was under time impression you were suppose to take both fighters at their best. Is it the Rahman version of Lewis against the Young version of Foreman? Is that the deal?

Listen I don't mind someone picking Foreman over Lewis but it shouldn't just be because they hate Lewis, it should be because when both are at their very best, you think Foreman wins. I don't think he'd win but at least those who thought this would be picking him for the right reason. I think the Lewis that would be in the ring would be the Lewis who beat Rahman in a rematch or the Lewis who beat Ruddock and my guess is the version of George would be the one who beat Frazier in their first fight.

Lewis within two with less than two days to go. It's down to the wire, but are there enough votes left to push him over the top, or will George close the show in style?

I think we could debate all day what we define as "success". Big George knocked out and became the recognized WHC at an age that IMO will never be repeated.

The biggest fight he lost was against Holyfield. Not bad considering the age difference and that Holy was one of the best of that era.

And whether Big George was behind or not doesn't matter at all. It's the same argument as VK was winning until he got TKO'ed. It doesn't matter. George KO'ed him legit.

And I think my argument is valid. George at his peak mentally for boxing was during his second career. He was more loose, in control, and focused during that time.

I was trying to clarify the rules. It said at their peak physically and mentally. Which for George, is two separate parts of his career.

It's the start of the 11th round, and Lewis had a big 10th, stunning Foreman several times. While the fight is close on the cards, Lewis has all of the momentum. But will he have enough in voting reserves to pull ahead in the final two rounds, or will Foreman pull one last rabbit from his voting hat and put Lewis away for good?

Lewis. More versatile, bigger, better conditioned fighter.

Lewis STAGGERS Foreman midway through the 11th with a big right hand! Foreman is hurt! Foreman has to hold on, but unless Foreman makes a big comeback in this round, Lewis will have gained control of this fight as we head to the end of the 11th!

Foreman is hurt, but his still has a very determined look on his face. Will Lewis do a Moorer and drop his guard in the 12th?
