The notion that the Klitschkos cannot be outpointed by the legends of decades past just... seems a bit off.

I think Louis... stoppage or, dare I say, distance.

Well if Chris Byrd can make him quit from non-visible injuries than who is to say Joe Louis, far superior to Byrd, couldn't do the same thing? Or cut his face wide open similar to how Vitali lost his only other career defeat.

so many klistchko haters on here it's quite pathetic
obviously Vitali has no ' real losses' that goes without saying, (If the Kovalev fight had been stopped against Agnew cause of his cut would Agnew have been the real winner lol...)
every hater knows Vitali's has no 'real losses' but they won't admit it on here but they know the score
    pointless replying to them

So a fighter should receive no credit for continuing to target and open up a cut that forces a stoppage?!?

I think it is pointless to reply to someone like you...

Louis is one of the greatest fighters in history, pound for pound here is way higher than Vitali. However if they boxed against one another I really just struggle to see Louis weighing in at around 190lbs defeating a solid teak tough and intelligent fighter, who outweighs him by around 4 stone and and 7 / 8 inches in height plus a significant reach advantage. Joe was not like Ali or even Holmes where he could dance out of Vitali's path. Im afraid it has to be a Vitali win, possibly late stoppage.

:patsch Vitali got outboxed, walked down and STOPPED by a man that was smaller than Joe Louis and had 1/10th of his boxing skill... not to mention had pillows for fists.

Louis was 7 out of 7 with a 100% KO ratio against Super Heavyweights

Vitali would be a big ass glorified punching bag for Louis

Put down the keyboard, and watch and study more boxing, son.

I currently box amateur just now have down for almost 10 years. Styles make fights as we all know, I just think this one is wrong is for Louis. Louis also got stopped by Schmeling before he was considered great. All boxers have off nights, Vitali was clearly having physical problems with his body the night he retired in his fight with Byrd.

I've seen a couple comments refer to Vitali's rotator cuff injury as an "Invisible" or "Unseen" injury. you are kidding yourselves....

VK was cruising to a victory over a prime Chris Byrd when he tore his rotator cuff...it was a clear decision he could continue fighting, win and risk his future or the fight could be stopped due to injury and he could heal and maybe become the Heavyweight champ (which he did)

I'm not going to say he doesn't have any "Real" losses but lets be honest he would wipe the floor with louis

42 delusional classic-era nutheads who genuinely believe Louis would win against a modern day SHW champ. Hilarious!

If Vitali could 'wipe the floor' with Louis, then imagine what he could do to a Chris Byrd.:patsch

From round round Vitali never came close to hurting , stunning or dropping Byrd. He won the rounds only because Byrd was throwing nothing back. As soon as Byrd began landing counters , Vitali started to run away and threw in the towel soon after.

Ibeabuchi easily disposed of Byrd in 5. Why was he able to cuff off Byrd and Vitali could only swat at thin air?

Louis was a master at drawing mistakes and landing counters and would crack Vitali over and over. Vitali wouldn't know what to do against Louis. Much like how he was confused against Byrd.

Size is not an arguement because Louis destroyed every big man he ever fought. Boxing is a sport of skill and technique. Not size. And Vit lost bad to the two best guys he ever faced and never redeemed himself by beating a higher caliber opponent.

You're honestly comparing the "Big Men of the Day" to Vitali? there is a vast difference between those guys and VK

So you had Byrd winning that fight when it was stopped? they way you make it seem VK couldn't touch him at all and Chris Byrd was just clowning till he won the fight easily

Facts are VK was beating Byrd and would do much of the same to Louis

"Lost Bad" to Byrd and LL?

Lost yes, lost bad is dilusional

the fights were stopped because of injury and he lost...but there is no way you could make a case in either fight that he was out classed or overmatched

Look at the state of his face. Thats a bad loss no matter what way you put it. And its all down to Vitali not being skilled enough to defend himself or get rid of an old slow and past it Lewis when he knew he needed to.
