The report goes on to state that sources have indicated the commission may be looking to require "a much smaller cage than the UFC's patented Octagon, prohibiting elbow and knee strikes and requiring that the referee to halt a bout should a fighter get knocked down from a strike in order to ensure the downed fighter is OK to continue."

Guess Dana didnt realise the UFC isnt as popular as he thought.

They should move the event somewhere else. Those rule changes are completely ridiculous.

Be good to see Dana getting put in his place. I'll bet he's furious:lol:
Mind you at the same time the ***** might just say '**** Canada, we won't be back'.
Yes I also think the request is stupid but hey, **** Dana.

Imagine that, a knockdown, and then check the downed fighter to see if he`s ok to continue? WTF?

Rules NEVER changed, but the comission was letting a room for UFC, TKO and XMMA..Now with the bull**** of strikeforce titans whatever with Bossé and Thomson, and the nearly riot, they said its enough.

Yeah. That is a sad joke for anyone living in Quebec and fan of MMA. UFC97 could easily be move to Vegas and that's that. The new head of the commission is terrible. He should be fired RIGHT NOW.

    Makes me wanna puke.

Yes, our commission are a JOKE, just a bunch of old senile dinausors who know NOTHING about MMA. That's a ****in joke, **** they still think that MMA is sport for dangerous animal..We have the best fighter of UFC coming from our province he would be the best ambassador, but they dont give a ****, if they were honest, they would change the rules, but they wont by pure stuborness, but check in one year or 2, we will have finally, the right rules for MMA. It's a goddamn joke.
Stephane Patry is a dumbass, him and his idea of puttin his show behind the back of the commission.

:fire:fire:fireThe sport will take a step back here, its a dame shame

Mate, MMA events are forbidden in many english provinces. Quebec is actually where MMA and boxing is most active.
