The fans were too docile for me. Other then the bute cheer they didnt do much at all. I will say this though they sure sold out the venue in a hurry and thats a big kudos to the french canadians! They are some serious boxing fans!

yea but we actually like boxing not just hometown fighters. Actually about 8K went to see Bradley vs Holt.

Also, its not Canada, just Quebec province

I was there and believe me... aside the 2 mains events (Guzman-Funeka & Bute-Andrade), there was no reason to yell to death... those fights were boring.

After the BS decision he got I understand him... but otherwise he can go back at home !!! A 6'1 fighter who can't KTFO a 5'7 fighter with a severe cut doesn't impress me at all

Montreal has always been a big boxing city. During the industrial era French Canadians were working class citizens in their own land, under the control of English Canadians who were the owners of companies, government, etc. They were made tough. Alot of them were facotry workers, farmers, lumberjacks, etc. The cold also used to make people more tough. Also, there's alot of Irish and Italian (and other) immigrants here. Theres a long history of big fights in Montreal. Montreal's sub-communities always want their heros.

They recently made a cool documentary on Quebec's boxing history. but its only in French
