Good thing for you they were around to help your asses out from under Good King George.

Otherwise you'd still be sippin' tea and paying taxes to Lizzie.:yep

Lets say someone visited Quebec and dropped in on a restuarant. They then proceed to order in English, would the waiter or waitress find this offensive?

    Not at all.

    Keyword is "visit"
What we have problem accepting is people living here all their life without learning a single french word.

No, because you're a tourist (you don't live here). Same thing as in every other civilised country.

And why not wanting to learn a new language??

You can only benefit from it.

How would the waiter know I'm a tourist and haven't moved in?

I wish I payed more attention to my french lessons in grade school but when you're that young who is really seriously trying to learn a second language.

French Canadian accent is classic though.

Almost 50% dont speak French in Montreal so nobody would care.

Outside of Montreal, you would simply look like a tourist.

We don't like people living here but not learning french.

That doesn't mean we yell at them.

Most people (99% ? )are respectful.

What pisses me off the most are enterprises who don't give a flying **** about the French language.

For instance, one day I went to a ''Guzzo'' movie theater where the girl selling popcorn didn't speak a word of French. And before the FRENCH VERSION of the movie, all the ****ing ads were in English.

    Go **** yourself, Guzzo!:fire

And the ads were really weird, I remember seeing one about a clitoris enlargement surgery.

    P.S: No, it wasn't a porn movie.
