it's not a fact in the slightest, as they have Oscar De La Hoya as well, so try again. I don't know, i'm not him, you'll have to ask him why but this one is obvious. Because Canelo has nothing to do with Hearn.
Don't agree with you on this. To me it seems clear that Hearn has a massive interest in the success of the DAZN platform and it's therefore not in his interest to destroy a $300m asset of that enterprise. Particularly as there's very limited potential to make any serious money off Rocky from Stocky even if he did somehow win twice against Canelo. It was important for the optics and the GBP relationship to distance Hearn from the Canelo acquisition, but I also don't think its accurate to say Canelo has nothing to do with Hearn. DAZN will want all their assets working together, particularly at middleweight where their investment is highest. Hearn will have a big role to play in that operation, whether people want to acknowledge this or not.
Uysk wasnt competing enough to win some of those early rounds, a renowned slow starter seemed to be taking a look at Bellew who got straight to work. Seemed to me he was checking the situation out and then started to dismantle everything Bellew was trying to do, and then knocked him out.
Do you think losing the weight drained Bellew to where his stamina was gone early? I never liked a 35 year old guy dropping down so much.
To me it does. If Usyk has issues out boxing a smaller heavyweight, he could have trouble with the larger ones with similar speed to Bellew.
So are you saying after giving the first three rounds away, Usyk pretty much won the rest of them to the KO?
That's fine, can't agree on everything. I just think he'd rather have a fighter that he's helped to build to where he is now win, rather than a fighter he's not directly involved with. Short-term Obviously the money isn't comparable, but if Rocky wins, he becomes an instant PPV fighter in the UK to Hearn, and there are a few British super-middleweights who he could match him up with to create big domestic fights. DeGale/Eubank Jr, & Smith II would become huge PPVs in the UK these days. But although the money isn't comparable in terms of sum, as Fielding is his fighter, he would be making money from it, whereas he isn't going to be earning from Canelo fights unless they're all against his fighters. Long-term with DAZN if Canelo loses, will it really make THAT much of a difference? He's had controversy his whole career, including failing a drug test, and his star power has still continued to grow. A couple of comeback fights against names or GGG 3, and if it does dip, he will back to normal again. Maybe, he could have something to do with Canelo, but that would just be guessing, as that differs to what both Hearn & De La Hoya have said.
This is true. Judges are influenced by crowds. But they are also influenced by star power and big money. And Usyk had both in his corner that night. The fact is Usyk looked like dog**** that night.
I scored the first 3 to Bellew, 4th Usyk. Rounds 5 and 6 were really close,so could have gone either way. On the night I had Bellew edging out the 5th. 4-3 Bellew at the time of the stoppage, but could have gone either way with 4-3 to either guy. 4th and 7th were clear Usyk rounds to me, but either way, he struggled early on with the jab and when Bellew lead with the right. I think Bellew will kick himself when he watches the tape back. The lead rights bothered Usyk, but he also really did not like being hit to the body. I hope he takes a couple of tune up fights before assaulting the top 10, because I can see the likes of Chisora, Whyte, Takam and Miller giving him a really hard night. Two of those guys listed I think beat him.
Id need to watch it again to say for certain on the points but i think i gave him everything from 4 onwards but there was a round in there i felt could of been shared, i think it was 4 as he was only starting to impose himself on Bellew and id say the 5th is where he fully wrestled control off of him.
The scorecards were dog****. Usyk took over after the third round ended. Bellew did show that Usyk was vulnerable to his poor man’s James Toney impersonation, bending at the waist to avoid a shot before countering. Nobody is very slippery at heavyweight right now so I don’t know if it will apply...maybe Wilder could tag him or Fury could give him trouble.
Agreed. There is no chance whatsoever that the Managing Director and one of the main shareholders of Matchroom wants one of their own figthers to lose just because his opponent also has a broadcasting deal in place with their broadcaster.
