Dirrell didn't want to fight his "friend", Ward probably didn't want to fight his "friend" either. It was clear the bout wasn't going to happen after neither had begun training, what was it a month out before the bout was meant to take place? Dirrell and his team, whether he faked injury or not, got themselves in a bad position...probably stayed out of the ring longer than they had to because they had to make the injury, and pulling out of the Showtime tournament more "serious", or "legit". From what I have read as it has unfolded. Dirrell has been capable of training, and fighting I believe for over a year now.
It may well be true that Dirrell didn't want to fight Ward but that doesn't mean that there was a conspiracy theory behind it. I can never imagine a discussion between Dirrell and Ward or his team: "Man, in the later rounds pretend you slip so that Arthur hits you then you should simulate a spasmodic crisis so that we won't meet in the ring". Aslo, I don't think that Dirrell was able to do any analogy between the time he got hit and the time he decided to fake an injury. All that he could think of was: "I got to win this fight". It was kind of instinctual. He did everything to win that fight. I absolutely agree with what you said about him (that he was capable of fighting one year ago). People claim of two years recovery time is bull****. Even if there were 2 years, it still smells like fly's food. So the brain injury recuperation took one year for Dirrell. He must be the real SOG, not Ward .
Dirrell was out for 2 years because he lost credibility; real of fake injury, doesn't matter, fans and media alike started to disregard him. Now he's back on Showtime because father time alievates old issues
He (or his handlers) did say that they weren't paid enough for the Ward fight so they pretty much gave away the motive for faking.
From the Wikipedia site: Snowball effect is a figurative term for a process that starts from an initial state of small significance and builds upon itself, becoming larger (graver, more serious), and perhaps potentially dangerous or disastrous (a vicious circle, a "spiral of decline").
I feel really bad for Direll and the cr*p he's had to listen to for the past 2 years. I hope he's back for real now and can go on to become the star he liked on the verge of becoming until the last seconds of that Abraham fight.
dirrell got knocked unconciou by an anderarm arm punch by abraham, ***** boy started twitching. unless he has a severe glass jaw or he was acting.
