I scored the round a tie because i felt clottey clearly won the round aside from the cotto kd....

is that possible or is any kd round an automatic 10-8?

I think the round has to be a lot clearer in Clottey's favour to not be a 10 - 8 to Cotto.

Didn't Cunningham batter Adamek one round, but got floored during it and still lost it 10 - 8?

No. You are fine with your score. I scored it 9-9 as well.

I always thought a kd resulted in an automatic 10-8, though based on the commentators it seems that doesnt 100% have to be the case. But I've never see a round where it wasnt scored a 10-8 for the person who socred the kd, regardless of how the rest of the action went.

It was a caught off balance/jab KD. It wasn't like Cotto caught him with a big left hook or right hand. That will Clottey was winning the round made it 9-9 for me.

The round was fairly close, even razor thin, both guys were boxing,Clottey was slightly ahead.

With the KD it's Cotto 10-8.

it was an off balance kd... it had nothing to do with the power of the punch or clotteys jaw.... clottey was coming in and turned his shoulder a certain way and fell because of it....

if its not mandatory to score a kd round a 10-8... that roudn was a tie imo... I would like to see what the judges did with that round...

Every judge had it 10-8 obviously.

I mean.. it happened in the last seconds of the round ... clottey had the round in the bag imo clearly until that... therefore making it a tie...

was it "obviously 10-8" or much closer...

AFAIK, if it's a flash KD or a questionable call in a round the knocked down fighter was clearly winning, you can make the round even or a 10-9.

Since this was neither and the round was extremely close, I scored it 10-8 Cotto.

Clottey didn't have nothing ''clearly win''.
    A clear round is Cotto's 6th or Clottey's 7th.
I'm 100% every judge had it 10-8 Cotto.

I would've scored the round even without the knockdown.. and then Clottey got dropped which automatically gave the round to Cotto plus and extra point for the knockdown made it, BOOM, a 10-8 round for Cotto.

What a difference a knockdown makes.

By that reasoning it would have made it a 10-9 round for Cotto. Learn how to score a round big guy.
