    Can someone tell me who is Dempsey fighting at the starting mark of 3:17 ?

    Big guy with good athleticism and a jab.

    I must say I don't know, but it does show that a solid jab and good foot movement could neutralise Dempsey, as Tunney demonstred himself in their 2 fights.

    Dempsey doesn't look out of it though in the footage, he's dodging most of the shots, the jabs, and he manages to get his shots in

    A great person to ask here on the Forum would be DaveK!!..He knows more about the Dempsey era than anyone else I know..look him up and message him I bet you he knows who it is......Really great footage to by the way thanks for posting that my man!:good

    Bill tate..its not a fight though (notice the tank top tate has) its a open sparring session. you can find more of the clip online, search youtube, dempsey bill tate
