Do you think if Chavez was prime the results would've been different.. or is the feeling like... prime or not Chavez was just not big enough to deal with DLH ever?

DLH would have taken Chavez out at 147 no matter what his age was.

At 135, I'd have to favor Chavez though. That was Chavez's prime weight in my mind, and while DLH looked awesome destroying people at that weight (Lejia, Ruelas, Paez, etc), to me he wasn't particularly skillful at that weight. He had a high guard, walked people down, and tried to decapitate them with a left hook after analyzing their style for a short time. He was basically a mini-Trinidad at lightweight. It's kind of surprising watching him in those days and then watching some of his later performances (such as against Trinidad, Vargas, Mosley II, etc). He was much more basic back then.

DLH had improved technically by the time he reached 140, and 140 was never Chavez's prime weight anyway. Chavez makes it a lot closer had he been younger, but I still think DLH claws out a decision in a war. He was just bigger, faster, and stronger than Chavez. He was a physical monster at 140.
