Hey guys I just wanted to ask a quick question.

I have been training for my first amateur fight in mid-june when I encountered something odd during sparring about a week ago.

I was wearing 14 oz sparring gloves and hit someone with a hook to the body. I felt my whole left forearm kind of "let go" (best way I can think of describing it), and now I have mild pain when twisting/putting pressure on it at certain angles (for instance, opening the driver's side door of my car. I have to twist to pull the handle and put pressure to open the door. This is where I notice it the most). I have been resting/icing it for about a week. I know that sprains are common, but i find it weird that this is the entire length of my forearm. It is not painful to the touch or anything like a bone injury. It's like a big shockwave went up my forearm, and now it is weak/painful.

Has any one experienced this type of injury before? I mainly feel the pain on the midforearm and upper forearm muscle on top of my elbow.

I'm assuming maybe it's a sprain? I am just hesitant to give it too much time because I need to be ready by mid-june for this bout.

I'll eventually probably suck it up and see a doctor but the last thing I want to hear is that I need to rest it for a month which leaves me out of luck for June.

    Thank you for any insight.
