Agreed. But as we all know, Roach is a great matchmaker and the Khan's could have easily made a couple of other defences but they took the fight. They obviously know something we don't know and trust their ability in what they're doing. I honestly think Khan will pull a masterclass now. Maidana needs to charge in and fire away and try to catch Khan off before he get's his rythm.
The one thing you can't train is a chin and Khan is pure A-grade egg shell china. Sure, he is fast and can punch in combinations, but if Maidana can land a decent shot Khan will be out of there.
Roach didn't make this match though did he? They wanted JMM. Maidana forced it by threatening purse bids.
Ricky Hatton does exactly the same thing as KHAN impose his power and speed go forward and it's all out.KHAN needs to be methodical about it.He reverts to that Prescott version OF KHAN he'll hit the deck for sure. But i am confident Maidan won't even land the one SHOT he's looking for.And Khan keeps it at a distance that suits him coz of his footwork and his speed.Maidana will get a proper beating. :good
Yes but Roach would have told Khan to vacate if he didn't have confidence. You kept saying Khan would vacate. Why don't you admit your wrong then and give Khan props on showing he's got balls? You run away everytime I ask you this question. And how can you call Khan a con NOW? He may have a glass chin, but not a con.
Agreed. I think Maidana will come out guns blazing in the first round and Khan countering him with something bad that drops him. This fight could be very very dramatic. Damn I'm excited.
I don't think the two situations are comparable. Cotto, prior to his struggles with making weight, had been viewed as having a sturdy chin. He had been facing fighters with moderate to big power such as Maussa, Pinto, and Randall Bailey taking their best shots with little to no effect. Khan on the other hand, always had a reputation of being chinny stemming from the amateurs and as a result was Frank Warren deliberately steered him clear of punchers, instead matching him with fighters with extremely low KO percentages. And even then a few of those fighters were able to stun, rock, and even floor him. The first fighter Khan faced with a semi-decent punch knocked him out in less than 60 seconds. The move up in weight may help his punch resistance a bit, but I don't think it'll matter on the world stage. I honestly believe dude has the most fragile chin out of any fighter at the world class level.
I expect a KD early in this fight too. Khan has more balls than brains and I can see him wanting to force the action early even though that won't be the game plan laid out for him. Really pumped for this one. :smoke
I mean Maidana is so open that he can walk right onto Khan's fast combos, this could even be over in a round Salita style :hey
Yeah. That'd be great but we all know the haters would say "He never got hit" "Maidana got caught cold" "Khan paid him to take a dive" "Maidana was a bum" Hater's gonna hate.
No the old khan who was still a boy and also had a **** trainer had more balls than brains. The new Khan is confident, calm, and can stick to a game plan better than most. Trust me. I have watched him grow as a fighter and am really glad he is proving his worth by taking on this fight. I want to say late Khan TKO. But i think the safe option is with a Khan wide UD.
