Khan's always going to be chinny. He may increase his punch resistance by moving up in weight, but the opponents also hit harder in higher weight divisions.
He can also increase his punch resistance by improving his conditioning and sparring tough sparring partners who can actually push him and put some leather on him.
Because we get accused as supreme 'Nuthuggers' when we're not. We just defend Khan from the masses of unjustifiable hate. Look at the ratio of Khans haters to the amount of 'nuthuggers'.
Khan's chin is pretty terrible. And chin doesn't refer to his actual chin, it refers to his punch resistance. Most fighters who are known to have glass jaws get that reputation by being knocked down with punches to the sides of the head. David Haye, Roy Jones, Khan, etc. Most fighters can take those shots, but every so often there's a fighter who just has some magic button up there that short circuits his legs. Khan's reactions to getting tagged are ridiculous and comical. And he does it against non-punchers. The kid has been fed tailor-made opponents for his whole career. He even won a title too soon for his own liking--vacating to face non-contender, past-prime Malignaggi who was really not relevant in the division anyway. Now finally he's taking on what I view as his first real test. But it's still a long way from Bradley/Alexander. Khan has never faced a puncher like Maidana. Or even a puncher. We've seen what happens to him when he gets hit by weak punchers. We've even seen him do it in a headgear and amateur gloves. I have no reason to think he won't do it if Maidana hits him. Furthermore, judging by Khan's lack of defense, I have to assume Maidana WILL hit him. It's an interesting fight though, because Khan has power and Maidana's chin isn't invincible. However, Khan isn't a slick fighter by any means, and I have a hard time believing he'll be able to box from the outside and use footwork to evade Maidana. It's easy to look good if you're a fast fighter facing guys who have zero power. Of course Khan outboxed Kotelnik and Malignaggi. He's bigger, faster, a harder puncher, and a better-schooled boxer. Those guys weren't ever going to hurt him. Maidana will be the first guy that Khan doesn't have every conceivable advantage over. Maidana can hurt Khan, is a decent, awkward boxer, and is close to his size. I really think Maidana takes this unless Khan can blow him out of the water early on.
I definitely will. I admit I dislike Khan quite a bit and it probably clouds my judgment That said, I still think Khan is severely overrated. The funny thing is, I can see him dominating Maidana (like he did to Salita) but I have a hard time seeing how he'll simply beat him in unexciting fashion (by boxing from the outside, moving, etc.). I feel like Khan either blows Maidana out of the water or loses. Maidana's too dangerous and Khan's too vulnerable for Khan to win over 12 rounds, imo.
When you're as chinny as he is but also blessed with athletcism, why not use the slick style, B?:think
Nooo clue. He uses more of a Klitschko style it seems, jumping in to punch and then either pushing off or holding on. Probably a product of his amateur days or just a personal preference.
Why are you saying he vacated?:think Why are you saying Kotelnik was easy? He whipped Alexander the guy you are pimping.:think
He was not weight drained at 135. That's a ******ed excuse. Even he didn't say that... Also, Roach will not be in the ring with him and won't be able to save Khan from taking monstrous shots. Maidana is the worst opponent he could have picked... all it's gonna take is one big shot for Khan to find himself on ***** street and then Maidana will unload more hard shots on Khan's chin and Khan won't be in any condition to get up. He's gonna be seriously hurt in this fight, again. Maidana KO6.
Vacated or whatever. Basically he payed off is mandatory who became interim champion. I'm saying Kotelnik was easy for Khan. Styles make fights. Kotelnik is good, but he's much smaller than Khan, slower, and has no power. He was tailor-made for Khan. Alexander he could get to, mainly because Alexander had zero gameplan except run around making ridiculous noises and punching Kotelnik in the hands
