Lennox incorporated the dreadlocks just after the Oliver Mcall defeat. Indeed one can see the first signs of this in the first McCall fight but it looks as well as if he could be losing hair as patches of no hair can be seen, so it's hard to say for sure. So it would be fair to say Lennox Lewis went with dread-locks because he was losing his hair in clumps, only a couple of years after boasting a full head of it against Razor Ruddock. Luckily for Lennox, he was no Samson, not even during the final stages of his swansong.
Some of you are ridiculous. I'm not asking how he styled his hair or maintained it. I'm just asking WHY he wore his hair that way. There are lots of brothers wearing dreads these days, and I just wanted to know the reason he wore the style. I thought maybe someone knew why he wore dreads. He's even got his daughters wearing their hair in a similar style. I'm just curious. I'll just go to another boxing forum where people are more mature and ask them if any of them know.
Perhaps you haven't read this. All I did was ask a simple question. If you don't have the answer, then fine. But I don't appreciate the disrespect.
:good TO THE OP - In the books MAMAS BOY and also some other shitty book about Lennox Lewis (Mission impossible one perhaps) he talks about his hair, it was pretty grown vs Morrison also, and he talks about how he sat in Jamiaca for 2 weeks waiting for his HIV test results after that fight worrying, and growing more hair.
he was better after the dreads. they probably hold some kind of mystic boxing power of their own. Lennox with dreads KTFOs lennox without dreads. i suppose he still wears them now as a way of saying thankyou to his dreads for giving him a HOF carreer despite the fact he is balding.
