Yes, he said it. Clearly he thinks he beat Pac both times so it's not Pac. Why he Floyd is #1 and not himself is what you're asking? I guess he meant the guy who has been the number 1 P4P for years. I don't know. I think he just respects that Floyd is the best fighter in the world until proven otherwise.

It's not outrageous to suggest PBF is the top dog.

Semantically, there could be a difference between pound-for-pound best fighter and the pound-for-pound number 1 - i.e. the best fighter in a division isn't necessarily the number 1 fighter, as he could be the "uncrowned champ" in a sense. That might be the case for Floyd: he can't technically be considered the "P4P Champ" because of inactivity, but he may still be the best P4P fighter on the planet.

I understand that this was meant for the pac fans who swear that marquez has already had a fight with the best.

    Agreed.

The above statement will become even more true when the inevitable clash between the Pac and May takes place. Mark my words, Floyd will beat him comprehensively.

Why you crying he was stating what he believes. What's wrong with that?

When he fought Pac, Pac wasn't pound 4 pound the best. Mayweather was. And now he fighting him.

There is something wrong in logic, if PAC is OFFICIALY considered to be #1 and JMM thinks he beat him 2x then its obvious that JMM should think he is #1 p4p not PAC or Floyd.

Both JMM and Nacho Beristain understand reality.......for one, they know they beat Pacquiao twice. But more than a knock on Pacquiao, the Marquez camp knows that Mayweather is so much more versatile and thus P4P the better overall fighter and more difficult challenge to them.

From a personal perspective, Marquez only needs plan A to beat Pacquiao.....but against Mayweather, he likely may need to change to plan B, C, and even D.......

With Mayweather, Marquez is going to have to be constantly tweaking and making adjustments, which becomes much more difficult to get into a real rhythm.........and vice versa, Mayweather is going to have to do the same.

I expect high quality however......a fight scenario unfolding in the mold of Leonard-Hearns.......not an allout brawl, but high quality all the way!:good
