Yeah and good thing he listened because his wife would be a widow. I can't imagine Foreman beating Anthony Joshua or Deontay Wilder now or in 2014, no way no how. He'd be ruthlessly slaughtered by either. Although, I would hope they wouldn't fight a nearly 70 year old man anyway.
Didn't Foreman quit to preach? Having grown up in a Pentecostal church, I can tell you, stories like his are very common as far as having a vision from God and being called by God to preach and many are 100 percent convinced it's true. So I think his story for quitting boxing the first time is legit as I've heard many more like it and I think Foreman really was convinced he was talking to God.
Sure why not. Only he knows. But i didnt like the way how he didnt even protest the zaire stoppage where he actually beat the count but just dejectedly walked away and his following mental breakdown in that bizarre thing where he fought 5 guys and started attacking an already defeated fighter and his trainer. His persona and everything he believed to be true about himself was completely shattered by the ali loss. In the 90s he was truly a grown man, who knew who he was and what he wanted and was willing to go through terrible beatings and severe punishment to get it.
