Question About Oscar's Rehydration on Fight Night against Pacquiao

Arum is on record saying that when he was promoting Oscar they were avoiding southpaws like the plague. Look what a past it Whitaker did to Oscar. Apart from that how many southpaws has Oscar defeated, and how good were they? I know that looking it up will raise some eyebrows.

Pacquiao is one of the best southpaws of all time. Put him in the ring against Oscar in his prime. Forget the size advantage lets say the Oscar that was fighting at 135 against Pacquiao. Both would come in the ring at more or less the same weight... Who's gonna win it? For sure it's Pac. He's a better fighter all around and to top it off in this matchup he has the style advantage in his pocket.

This was a staged fight to make millions of people that dont know any better. Dont buy into this bull****, only watch real fights. Dont waste your time debating nonsense.

 

I heard about that. That was stupid and dangerous as hell. Of course DLH wouldn't be able to perform under those conditions. I don't know who I'm more pissed at - the people that imposed those conditions, or DLH for actually agreeing to it.

 

I'm on record in this forum stating before the DLH-Pac fight took place, that p4p, which means both fighters weighing within the same weight limits, that Pacquiao would beat DLH in much the same way that he beat MAB......

Why DLH officially weighed 145 lbs for Pacquiao is a puzzle to me.
Witnesses including Roach stating that DLH had IV marks on his arm, may be a clue that he was sickened to make the weight limit.

Most any reasonable boxing observer was of the belief that DLH would officiallly weigh in at 147 lbs and then rehydrate back to close to 160 lbs, giving him a significant weight advantage.

.....but it was'nt the case, and the reason behind it is still a puzzle.

.......One thing is that Nacho Beristain who oversaw DLH's training, is that he never used the weight as an excuse.......he was quoted afterward as saying that DLH just could'nt decipher Pacquiao's southpaw stance, and he neglected to throw the right hands that were worked on in training camp.......

Both theories, the weight issue and Pacquiao being a speedy southpaw make perfect sense to me.....

I have to gather that it was a combination of both.....DLH being physically drained, and Pacquiao style just doing a number on him.....

Pacquiao certainly deserves alot of the credit here.
DLH who's boxing skills I always thought were overrated by most, seemed to be just clueless in there.

 

LOL! Who does don't know any better? Must be DLH, because if he staged that fight he just lost 8 figures not promoting a DLH vs. Hatton fight promoted soley by him. DLH only had 1/2 a promoters share with Pac vs. Hatton instead of the 30-40 mil he coulda made making money as a fighter and promoter if he beat Pac and fought Hatton after. The retirement of the biggest money maker in his whole promotional outfit must have been staged. Maybe Hattons loss was planned too because Oscar loves to lose his money makers. If Pac ever fights Mayweather DLH is out of the big picture. DLH must be as smart as you for staging this event. LOL!

 

Not in nearly in the same capacity as if he was a full promoter. Think about it, if he beat Manny then fought Hatton then beat Hatton and rematched mayweather, who he may be making money from as a promoter as well, that would be close to 9 figures he just lost out on. All because he staged a fight with Pac? He should be hating on Pac more than ever right now for winning against him let alone whoopin his ass and having him quit on his stool.

 

He was 147,leave it at that.

I serioulsy doubt that dude...Oscar was at least fighting back in the fight with Floyd....Even Roach saw that Oscar couldnt pull the trigger (this came from his own mouth) so there is no doubt in my mind Oscar would have made it a better fight at 154 given he didnt have to drain himself to make the 147 limit.

That just further proves my point that a prime Oscar would be to much for Manny at 147.

Lets not forget that Oscar took out the WBC champ in Mayorga in 6 and put up a good fight with Floyd that following fight...Roach only said that Oscar couldnt pull the trigger anymore during the Forbes figth (and he also said it post-Pacman fight)

Its different styles and I doubt that Floyd would have fought Oscar like Manny fought Oscar due to their styles....Floyd fights defensive first picking his shots while Manny fights more of the aggressor type of fight.
