Hey guys i got a little question...
When a guy gets knocked down and beats the count, why does the reff usually pull the gloves towards himself to check if it can go on? Does he want to check if the boxer is falling when the arms get pulled? What is the response he wants to get from the boxer by doing so?

    Cheers Bierjunge

He's wiping the guys gloves on his shirt. This ensures that no dirty or anything can get into the other fighters eyes after his opponents gloves have touched the ground

coz they're fighting on a muddy ring, and that dirt getting on opponent's eye may cause AIDS.
