not my ideas but in my ross enamait book he suggests variable distances. 800m, 400 m , 200 , 100 , 50 ect. eg 800 x 4 50 x4 ect could go into more detail but dont feel its fair to take too much out his book and keep posting it sorry check out his website though www.rosstraining.com i find it very difficult to run on concrete and dont have access to a track so i find the treadmill on the highest speed roughly 800 meters would be 2 mins, 400 would be one, 200 30 seconds ect, and i jog lightly inbetween for 1 min , though i want to get this down to 30 - 45 seconds.
no i used to do alot of distance running, but got past shin splints , but i damaged my Achilles and thinking i was being tough just kept going day after day. dont think it will ever be quite right again :? theres a lesson in there i think
concrete running is meant to be bad for your joints etc , i have constant problems with shin splints , my achillies holds up pretty well although i think i might have damaged that slighty alsoatsch
until the running help for fighter? think that at some period it is essential... but no exaggeration to compensate.
