Hi all, Just watched the show where there was the Royce Gracie vs Sakuraba rematch and the debut of Brock Lesnar (he is the reason I got the dvd). This was the first MMA show I had seen since the UFC of the mid 1990's. Is this PPV a normal MMA event? It was just so slow and so much ceremony at the start with the passing of the torch and the introduction of the fighters.
I can't believe this is the only MMA event you've seen since the early UFC's. And the only reason is because of Brock Lesnar. Buy every single PRIDE dvd from PRIDE 1-34 Also buy every PRIDE shockwave, critical countdown, total elimination, final conflict and Bushido dvd's out there.
I thought Brock was going to rulle MMA since he is huge and powerful, with wrestling skills better than most in MMA.
Well he might do very well. But the guy he fought was a bum. Lesnar also says he wants to have 6 fights. Which doesn't sound like he is commited. But yes, he is strong and a good wrestler, but if he doesn't cross train and learn new techniques he'll get his ass handed to him when he steps up. He reminds me physically of Mark Kerr. I think Lesnar may be a better wrestler than Kerr but like Kerr if he doesn't train in other martial arts he'll get his ass handed to him.
