Sorry if this has been covered already, but does any one know what happens after the first round. There will be 3 fighters remaining, will there be an odd man out, or are they planning on adding an additional fighter into the secnd round ?

Thanks for any info / answers.

the first round has 3 sub-rounds, so a total of 9 fights.

Each fighter fights 3 fights. If he draws he gets 1 point, if he wins by decision he gets 2, and if he wins by knock out 3

After the first round the 6 fighters will each have accumulated a certain number of points based on the results of their three fights. The two fighters with the least points are eliminated from the tournament.

The fighter with the most points will likely meet the 4th, and the one in 2nd place will face the 3rd.

Then the two winners fight each otehr in the final

after the first round though, wouldn't you have three fighters (the losers) with 0 points?

how do you pick the best loser to advance to round two :huh

Oh yeah,............****! you got a point. I saw what the other guy was saying about the 1st 3 fights and accumulating points, but obviously if a guy loses a figvht and has zero points, then he gets another opportunity to fight 2 more times. If he loses his next 2 he's out ofr sure. but, if let's say froch ko's dirrell(likely) and then loses to let's say kessler, then he still has 3 points. So, if Taylor decisions AA, and draws with let's say ward then he has 3 points. The only way a guy gets dropped is if he loses more than he wins. A fighter could lose a fight, but still win the whole thing.

They have tie-break mechanisms in place for any eventuality. The 2nd and 3rd stage fights have yet to be announced although Kessler said in one of the interviews that he would be fighting Froch next.
