I think his win over Arguello was big upset... So what were Vilomar's odds? Was he 5-1 underdog or higher? Nothing about it...
Not sure there would have been odds being a non-title 10-rounder. Vilomar could box for sure. His fight against Howard Davis Jr is a good watch.
Whatever the odds were, he was a massive underdog coming in. He was at least a known quantity having challenged Duran the year before and not done badly. But even though Arguello was testing the waters at lightweight, it was huge surprise him losing.

His fight against the great Alexis Arguello was a non title 10 rounder, but he demonstrated good boxing skills and movement. That was a weakness for Alexis, it also gave Roberto Duran trouble until round 13 on January 29 1977, Duran caught up to Vilomar, to successfully defend his WBA Lightweight Title.
