Larry Merchant first brought up the possible matchup, and then later Freddie Roach started publically talking about how he wanted Pac to fight DLH. Doesn't really matter though. Calling out is overrated, just a way for fans to get unnecessary erections. The real calling out is in the negotiations, not in the press.
I guess what I'm really asking is: who initiated the negotiations? Did De La Hoya push for the fight and offer it to Pacquiao? Or was it the other way around?
I have a transcript of how the fight came about ODLH: *Calls Pacman* "Hey Pacman how you doing" MP: "Hey Oscar, Im fine thanks" ODLH: "Cool man, wanna make US$8 million?" MP: "Ummmm........let me think about that........ok why not" ODLH: "sweet man, its me and you, dont worry about how much they are saying im making this will be your biggest payday ever" MP: "Sure no problems im down" ODLH: "Excellent" Simple as that fight is made.
Yeah guys above im sure you 2 know exactly how much each fighters getting considering your both chartered accountants, do boxing promoting on the side, and know the fighters. No one has a clue what their both making aside from the fact that ITS BIG.
