What is your feeling about this fight from all the research you've done on it? Did most ringside reports feel like Hart won or Johnson won? The ones I've read seem to say the same thing.. Johnson won when he tried and was outclassing hart.. but hart keep on coming and coming. Johnson thought he had it in the bag because he was landing the harder blows and outclassing him and thus wasn't fighting with urgency. What have you found in your research?

Some have held this fight against Johnson claiming it really hurts his legacy that he lost such an important fight. Is that your view as well? My view is, that Johnson that he had won the fight and did enough to win, and it's also my view he should've gotten the victory.

Please expand on your thoughts and research if you can.

Can't blame him can you? Keep your powder dry and all that.

By to-days standards Jack should have got the win. By the prevailing standards and particularly those of that fight, ie Referee Gregains, Hart deserved the nod. My two cent.

Jack had an opportunity for a title shot and was not capable of closing the deal.

Next day reports suggested neither was in the class to be considered a threat to Jeffries.

The fight is described in Adam's bio of Marvin Hart, which has been out there for a while already.
