You're right they do on the website. I never noticed that before. I stand corrected :rasta The US has terrible snobbery towards the WBO...just because they have no strong connection with the organisation. It desrves more credit thats its given, but its still part of the problem. I remember when the WBC told Nas he wasnt allowed to hold the WBO belt at the same time as they didnt recognise the sactioning body...so Nas gave up the WBC belt ... probably more to do win ****** tho than Nas.
I still remember Lampley and co's disdain when commentating on the Hide/Bowe WBO HW fight. The WBO has come a long way though and if you look at their current champs Wlad,Pacquiao,Huck,Bradley,JMM etc etc it really makes the belt look a lot stronger. I got a feeling the IBO will become the new WBO and probably in 10-15 years that will be looked at as a proper world title aswell:-(
TBH, I think the opposite. the more MMA makes inroads into boxings fanbase as the years go on the lesser alphabets will fall one by one. Boxing as we know it will be better for the competition, or it will die altogether. lets wait & see.
Yeah it has come a real long way over the last 20 years. I have noticed the IBO being mentioned more and more in the boxing press :verysad...not good! I love the fact that the word ****** (W*a*r*r*e*n) is blocked as a swear word ...what genius instigated that?
I'd love to know what ESB's excuse is to block that word. They will get sued by Fwank? ESB are getting paid for imposing some of these things, it's actually not illegal to request streams and loads of other sites do it without repercussions.
I also notice the name of a country was blocked....****stan...insane you cant even mention the name of a country :verysad But i digress...I actually see some point in not allowing stream requests. Its an ethical point of view, they cant allow people to steal from boxing if you know what i mean. I think Barry ***** from matchroom is paying ESB off
A lot of the time though the stream is from a foreign country which is on local tv there and we have no chance of seeing it by any other means,I dont see what the problem is. I watched the Golovkin fight on Friday and if it wasnt for streams many boxing fans would miss out seeing live fights which in this day and age theres no need for.
I just see the WBA as the worst because of interim, regular, and super champs. And the farce that is/was the HW divison. I think the IBO only gets mentioned due to the occasional good champs, and the aussies love it!
Khan doesn't get the Bradley fight as promised so he fights Judah. Burns doesn't get the Fana fight, so instead of chasing another belt he fights Cook. You tell me who the real champ is and who the fraud is?
Burns has only been champ around 8 months??? Cook will be his 3rd defence within a year, I dont think the situ's as bad as people are making out. The 3 matches have been disappointing but the abuse is WAY over the top. Some of the big fights, esp unification matches can takes years to finally get on, are we not forgetting this? I'm willing to wait a bit longer before having cheap-shot after cheap-shot at Ricky who's possibly the nicest, most grounded boxer of all time!! (bar A.Arthur who's weird with it) Billy's not innocent in this, his thread on McAllister was f*cking ridiculous, but again, he doesnt deserve the constant onslaught just because he posts on here.
Yeah I know what you mean, and I am with you on that. I was just speculating as to why they wont allow it. I guess showing streams of a PPV would alienate the industry, but showing a free-to-air stream would be fine... its probably easier for them to implement a blanket ban, oterhwise it would be a nightmare to regulate here. Yeah true, these extra belts are a complete farce. Driven by pure greed as usual.
He wouldn't get so much of this if he a) didn't criticise other matching of opponents, b) answer questions properly instead of saying we fight whoever frank puts infront of us, does that include down-syndromes too?
