i really wanted david brophy, just like all scottish fighters to do really well tonight and make a good account of himself. sadly he didn't and what should have been a win/win situation is maybe not the case. imo to make it win/win david would have had to be competitive but that just wasn't the case.:good david obviously lives the life and deserves credit for wanting to take the fight but surely he must get back down to area level and start fighting guys in the british top ten so he can learn against decent operators instead of the opposition he has faced so far, bar last night.:good imo david needs to work on his head movement, his footwork and not just clamming up as his main defence. honestly billy and this isn't a dig at you but it looked like you had sent david brophy to train with joe gallagher for that fight and as i mentioned in my opening post i think that with you spending so much time at joes gym you are starting to coach your boys in his style and imo that isn't going to help your guys. when you trained ricky during his world title reign his footwork and ability to judge distance with his jab were 2 of his best assets and with david and lewis in the fights I've watched are basically like watching a joe gallagher fighter not a billy nelson fighter:good:good get back to doing what worked mate and stop changing your training methods because you are mates with joe gallagher, it will serve you and your fighters in the future and they will take less punishment:good:good beat of luck in the future:good
It wouldn't have mattered who devised that game plan for last night, brophy simply does not have the tools to trouble guys like groves et al. That is not a dig billy its just the reality.
At the end of the day people watch boxing to be entertained and we just had a PPV were the opponents in the chief support and main event didn't even try and were just there to get paid. They may have been overmatched and almost certain to lose anyway, but that is still unexpectable.
that is a strange move from stephen simmons, i remember talking to him after he left you first time round and he didn't really have any good thing to say about you :huh bawbag billy was how his words:good and would tell anyone who listened that danny vaughn should be their first choice as coach if they were to turn professional. :huh maybe he has realised what he is missing but it is more likely that he wants a coach where he doesn't have to travel as far and i doubt that stephen will ever reach british level anymore, he was outclassed by jon lewis ****inson and if wadi camacho was fitter then eh would have outpointed him too. :good stephen has went from a talented amateur to a flatfooted brawler and i have never understood why :huh:huh:good
I'm in Glasgow right now.. send me a message we can sort it out right now..Will take the wee as a compliment not really had that before. I'm down by the Quay area..
How sad that two people involved in the sport resort to acting like little kids. Brophy was totally outclassed which was no surprise but im sure he can still do ok at domestic area level maybe brit title in the future. Agree with others not a win win imo as he did nothing but get beat up some then stopped without showing anything in return. Billy did the effects of that big right in the first round stay with him for the rest of the fight
Someone is obviously still drunk from last nights scotch. Anyway, I would like Billy to tell us what the gameplan was?
