He is that good and brings a great combination of boxing skills, pressure, power (which he retains to the end of fights), experience, training dedication and decent chin. Defense is maybe a B though. That's why I want to see him in with Bivol. He also has said that he wants to fight Usyk again, so that will show us what his level is really at.
He won't because he turned pro too late, is too old, and he's had a lot of bad luck with inactivity. But I'm very confident, what with me being a fan of his since the amateurs and knowing what a wrecking machine he was in them back then even in his early 20s and how feared he was, that he would've forged a ATG LHW career had he turned pro when he was younger or much younger. He's not your regular fighter. He's different. Crazy strong and powerful and he has an even more crazy work ethic.
He's good. Very exciting to watch, punches like a mule. Just not as good as Golovkin was as some people were saying and i'd bet on Bivol when they fight
What about the chin of Beterbiev ? Was it ever tested during his short professional career? Let's say Yarde can at the very least land something big on Beterbiev, are the experts here capable to predict he can take it? Which fight proves that Beterbiev has a solid chin?
Thanks. I post a direct link to that sequence here: This content is protected To sum the negative against Beterbiev : Old for a 38 yo boxer. Lots of inactivity. Not the best chin. Not the best defense. 6 times the bet for Yarde I think I can live with it.
Yarde is good. His loss to Kovalev puts way too much shadow on his talent and strenght. He is capable to KO a top 20 within 4 rounds. And he was very close to KO Kovalev as well.
Everything that he does, he does quite well so yeah I'd say he's that good. He's not a dynamic fighter, he's just a train that moves forward and eventually runs you over.
Beterbiev is one of my favorite current fighters but the problem is that he's wasted most of his prime years. He really doesn't have that much more time left in the sport now that he's 37. Beating Gvozdyk was impressive but he needs to face Bivol ASAP so we can really have an idea of just how good he is overall. It's now or never.
I don't think Yarde is talented the way he's been described a couple of times on here - yes he stands in a shoulder roll but is fairly easy to tag with straight shots. Plus his physique means he'll never be able to box at a certain workrate for 3 minutes, and I think many of the drafted opponents he's faced probably find themselves intimidated by the smokescreen hype generated by Yarde's team. That being said he's got heart, and I think he'll do better than expected against AB.
