I posted this question in the lounge and got a bunch of spam in return. . . hoping you guys can answer this? Hatton talked about eating peas, sausage and drinking guiness. . . what gives? Do you Brits eat peas as in the vegetable with beer? how are they cooked or do you eat them raw. Doesnt sound to tasty to me.
Peas give me a severe dose of the farts, so I try to avoid them if possible. Mushy peas with vinegar are always a temptation though, same s a scotch pie & peas.
Eel? Have you lost your mind??! Iv never eaten an Eel in my entire life and have no intention of.Thats a pikey dish mate.I aint a pikey.
Alright il keep it real im a cockney born and bred but **** that for a laugh.Eel is absolutely disgusting. Why would you want to eat soome water snake thing that has electricity going through it? That aint right?! I used to have this Pie and Mash shop at the top of my road and it used to be packed with these Eel chomping pikeys. From the age of 10 for my life i couldnt understand why.It was quite disturbing.atsch
Since when were "northerners" (ie. near-southerners) pikeys? At any rate, I like salt and vinegar with fish+chips; I like mayonaisse with fish+chips (Belgian style); I actually like fish+chips with curry on occasion; I've even had and enjoyed a Japanese chef's recipe for fish+chips, but I'll be damned before I have fish+chips with mushy peas. Peas are nice, fish fillets are nice (although I prefer them non-battered), chips are nice, but mushy peas can stay well away as far as I'm concerned. "Let's go out for an English!" "What's the blandest thing on the menu?"
I must admit rooney does not make us northerners look great. But the page three girls Michelle marsh and sophie howard shows northern girls to be fantastic.
