Marquez does'nt need to use clinching tactics to stop an assault.
Marquez see's the openings as they are developing and he goes for each and every counter opportunity, which wasn't always a good idea against Pacquiao because when you do that, you're going to get hit in return.
That wasn't the reason why he got robbed 3 times.

In fight 3 Marquez stayed more disciplined and kept his combinations to two's and three's as apposed to the previous fights where he went with four's and five's, the result was that he stayed off the canvas and didn't get hit with any significantly hard shots.
A boxing clinic and still the judges gave him the shaft.

The result of fight 3 left Marquez no choice but to actively seek the KO.
    BAD NEWS FOR PACQUIAO! :deal

My main point is that fight 3 for Marquez was a lot more convincing and dominating than Mayweather's timid performance against Pacquiao.

Both Mayweathers fight with Pacquiao and fight 3 for Marquez were 10-2 on my card, but Mayweathers was a timid uneventful performance where there was nothing timid in Marquez' repeatedly landing hard right hand leads, controlling the ring, and making Pacquiao reluctant to attack and diminishing him to a simple arm puncher.

This is where I respectfully disagree. It couldn't have been more dominating when the fight was much closer than PBF-#48. I scored that 3rd fight for JMM but it was close and it wasn't a dominant performance. Against PBF #48 was never really in the fight he was in the fight with JMM. With that said JMM is the man and I'm a fan I hope he can have a farewell fight against someone in front of 100,000 in Azteca Stadium in Mexico City, he deserves it.

There's video of Roach and Ariza talking to eachother during and inbetween rounds for that 3rd Marquez fight, it looked and sounded like two individual watching the Titanic sink.
The post fight press conference was somber for team Pacquiao, Roach had to explain why they deserved the decision, but there was nothing but embarrassment and disappointment in his face.

When your head trainer say's during a post fight press conference that the fight could have gone either way, you know you've just been propinated a boxing lesson.

When you compare Mayweather fight with Pacquiao and Marquez' fight 3, Marquez landed more, cleaner, harder, and more effective shots on Pacquiao.
.......and he made it entertaining in the process with no dirty or illegal tactics. Nothing timid about the performance which is was seperates it bigtime from Mayweather's performance where fans were left asking for their money back.

There is little doubt in my mind that had Marquez fought the exact same fight that Mayweather did against Pacquiao, because he does'nt have the name recognition and celebrity status that Mayweather has, he'd have gotten shafted on the scorecards and lost a close decision on the judges cards.
That's just the corrupt state of boxing, you know it, I know it.

But boxin is derived from basic ground fighting, where effective punches = effective damage. Fluid did **** all damage to pac, while pac outlanded fluid with the cleaner more effective punches.

Mayweather is a better pure boxer than Marquez.

JMM can only cope with guys who swarm him. He likes countering. He lost to Norwood and John relative nobodies in his prime because they boxed him.

Pac tore up, hurt and buzzed Mayweather many times. Mayrunner landed a few jabs, hugged, wrestled, and ran while landing a few jabs.

    150 punches - 80

    10-2

    :hi::hi:

    Floyd 49-0

    Deal with it.
